Ohio State lands four-star 2024 cornerback Miles Lockhart

Miles Lockhart, four-star cornerback out of Chandler, Arizona, could have chosen to play college football just about anywhere.

His offer list is over 20 schools deep and it features the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Colorado, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Utah and Wisconsin, among others.

He also boasts an offer from Ohio State, one he cashed in on Thursday afternoon. Lockhart is the newest member of Ryan Day's 2024 recruiting class.

“I really felt it was the right fit for me,” Lockhart told 247Sports regarding his decision to choose the Buckeyes. “It feels like family there. It feels like home. They made sure I knew I was a priority for them. That was a big reason, and the family atmosphere. Coach (Tim) Walton and coach (Ryan) Day really take care of you.”

Looking back on his recruitment, it's easy to see that OSU has clearly been the favorite for some time. The Buckeyes offered him in June of 2022 and he only took one official visit, and that was to Columbus on June 16, 2023.

OSU also boasts a great reputation amongst recruits when it comes to getting skill players to the next level.

"Everybody knows Ohio State’s reputation on producing defensive backs," Lockhart added.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Lockhart is the No. 33 ranked cornerback in the country.

Day's 2024 class is ranked No. 2 overall in the nation, only behind Kirby Smart and Georgia.
