Nick Saban knocks it out the part with analysis on Thursday for 2024 NFL Draft
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Round one of this year’s NFL Draft from Detroit (Mich.) on Thursday was probably the most watched and enjoyed event.

Nick Saban, Alabama’s former head football coach, knocked it out the part with his analysis on the ESPN set. He got an opportunity to break down three players he coached — JC Latham, Dallas Turner, and Terrion Arnold — get taken in the first round as well as break down tape on other players. Saban, 72, was a breath of fresh air on stage, providing marquee in-depth breakdowns on each guy. He took coaching seriously, especially his 17 seasons at Alabama, but he excelled and had fun to open the draft.

Saban produced 47 first-round selections since 2009 and looks forward to seeing how Latham, Turner, and Arnold do.

He even got a shoutout from quarterback Jalen Milroe, who supported his brothers in Detroit.

Saban is enjoying retirement, but to see him add value to the NFL Draft with his expertise is incredible.

Alabama fans enjoyed seeing their legend on television. Rounds two and three of the draft happen Friday night. Alabama has several former players on the board, including Kool-Aid McKinstry, Chris Braswell, Jermaine Burton, Trezmen Marshall, and Jaylen Key that could go in these next two rounds. Saban will be more than excited to hear their names called.
