The Washington Huskies appear to be interested in finding another wide receiver in the transfer portal and have brought Chris Brazzell II formerly of Tulane in for an official visit.

Brazzell finished with 44 catches for 711 yards and 5 touchdowns, and was named to College Football News' Freshman All-America team. He appears to be choosing between Washington and Tennessee.

He took an official visit to Knoxville earlier in the week and, with the early signing period opening on Dec. 20, he could decide on his future school in the coming days. Interestingly, Troy Dannen, who was athletic director when Brazzell joined Tulane, is now at the UW.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound pass-catcher has top-tier size on the outside and could develop into an elite option for receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard and whoever starts at quarterback for the Huskies in 2024.

The coaching staff also has expressed interest in former Notre Dame receiver Tobias Merriweather, who hails from Union High School in Southwest Washington, but could opt to pursue the more productive Brazzell.

If he chooses Kalen DeBoer's team, the former Green Wave receiver could have a sizable role in Washington's offense right away since it appears the Huskies are prepared to lose their top three receivers to the NFL draft.

Rome Odunze, Ja'Lynn Polk and Jalen McMillan all appear ready to forgo their remaining eligibility, which opens up a lot of targets for the receiver corps in 2024.

With Giles Jackson, Germie Bernard and Denzel Boston possibly the UW starters next season, Brazzell's experience would help him fit right in among these pass-catchers.

The Huskies are projected to have five freshman receivers on the roster next season, making an experienced player such as Brazzell's caliber a big addition to Washington's passing attack.
