Pitt Basketball Schedules Wednesday Press Conference

Speculation is swirling following an email sent from the Pitt men’s basketball program.

Pitt has scheduled a press conference for tomorrow afternoon at 1 PM at the Peterson Events Center.

The e-mail sent out to the media stated, “Pitt head coach Jeff Capel and a select player will be available to the media Wednesday April 3 beginning around 1:00 PM in the GBU Life Campus View Club at the Peterson Events Center.”

The question now being asked is which player will be with Capel at the press conference?

Obviously, the social media speculation is that it will be freshman guard Bub Carrington, to talk about his future plans. One thing to throw out there is that in the past, when former Pitt stars Justin Champagnie and Blake Hinson announced that they would be exploring the NBA Draft, it was done via Twitter, not a press conference.

That’s not to say that Pitt and Carrington wouldn’t call for a press conference to talk about this. But once again, it’s not even been confirmed that tomorrow is about Carrington and his future. It’s all speculation to this point.

Pittsburgh Sports Now is working to learn more about the nature of the Wednesday’s press conference and of course, PSN will be in attendance at The Pete.
