A.J. Hoggard posts message to Michigan State fans after NBA Draft entry
USA TODAY Sports

Michigan State starting point guard A.J. Hoggard publically addressed his early entry into the 2023 NBA Draft for the first time on Wednesday with a statement posted to Instagram.

"First and foremost, I would like to thank God for this opportunity, also my family for unwavering support," Hoggard wrote. "I've had an amazing experience at Michigan State and coming here has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

"Everyone on this team has become a brother to me and we have stuck with each other through thick and thin. Going to the Sweet 16 this year was a great experience and I know Spartan Basketball has a lot to look forward to in the coming years. Playing for a guy like Coach Izzo, who pushes you to be the best on the court and off of it, has made me a better player and a better person.

"Playing in the NBA is the dream for any kid who picks up a basketball. I've had that dream since I started playing. After discussing it with my familiy and with Coach Izzo, I am entering my name for the 2023 NBA Draft and will maintain my college eligibility."

Hoggard has until May 31 to withdraw his name from the draft and maintain his eligibility at Michigan State.
