TailGreater: Your official, custom, team-specific Super Bowl playlists

If you're anything like me, you woke up this morning remembering that the Super Bowl is only a week and a half away, and that you're already probably too late to reserve delivery pizza, rent folding chairs, or even invite people over because by this point, everyone's already probably made plans.

On the plus side, that means that instead of hosting a party yourself, you can mooch off of your friends and eat all their delicious food with impunity, assuming you've brought, like, a box of cheap beer, a bag of Tostitos and some cheap salsa. But don't be that guy. Go the extra mile and bring something extra to the party. May we suggest some quick and easy Super Bowl recipes you can make in the slow cooker? Or perhaps some appetizer recipes?

You see, friends, this Super Bowl features a matchup between two of America's best-ever music cities, Boston and Atlanta. And no party is complete without a killer playlist. Super Bowl parties are no exception. I'm sure you can see where this is going. We have hand-crafted two playlists, one for Patriots fans, and one for Falcons fans, to underscore your team's glorious victory, or bitter defeat.

New England Patriots: Shipping Up To Boston

Who are those upstarts down south? Who are they to try to challenge this legacy, this unstoppable machine that Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have created? And furthermore, who are they to challenge Boston's superiority as a music city?

I don't have to tell Patriots fans that, just like your team, your city itself is always being disrespected. Most people only think of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch when they think of Boston music. If we're lucky, they'll think of New Kids On The Block, too. But there's a beautiful depth to the city's music history outside of the Wahlberg family.

Dick Dale is from Boston. Aerosmith is from Boston. Hell, Boston is from Boston. And though, admittedly, Atlanta has New England beat on the hip hop front, both Bell Biv DeVoe and Gang Starr both hail from Beantown.

And it's not as if it's all huge arena bands either. Cult classic bands like They Might Be Giants have roots in Boston, as do indie darlings like Freezepop, Bang Camaro, Passion Pit, The Magnetic Fields, and The Lemonheads.

No respect.

Atlanta Falcons: Peace Up, A Town Down

Oh, boo hoo, Boston. Always playing the role of the overlooked redheaded stepchild. Your fan base is somehow "long-suffering" despite all the success the Patriots have had. Oh, poor you. Brady got caught "cheating" and was suspended for a few games. You have nothing on the pain that us Falcons fans have gone through. So many late-season meltdowns. No Super Bowl victories. And this year, the city's only pro team to ever win a national championship moved out of Atlanta. Oh, and by the way, the whole city burned down that one time. So don't come at Atlanta with that "disrespected" crap.

By the way, Atlanta's music is better too. Indie bands like All Cows Eat Grass, Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics, and of Montreal are leading the charge, following in the footsteps of alt-rock pioneers like R.E.M., Matthew Sweet, Pylon, and the B-52s.

That's not even mentioning the incredible soul history of the city, from contemporaries like Janelle Monae to legends of the genre such as Ray Charles, Otis Redding, and, oh yeah, some dude named James Brown.

You've said we have you beat on hip hop, but that doesn't do Atlanta justice. We're not just the home of trap, we're the home of Outkast, Ludacris, both halves of Gnarls Barkley, the Goodie Mob, TLC, and countless other artists that I didn't have room for on the playlist.

Atlanta has Boston soundly beat as a music town, and soon enough, they'll have Boston beat on the gridiron as well.
