Best of Yardbarker: NFL coaches who survive despite themselves

It was a bad week for the United States, and no, I'm not talking about politics. I'm talking about the U.S. Men's National Team and, more specifically, manager Jurgen Klinsmann. After losing to Mexico 2-1 in a World Cup qualifying matchup last Friday, things got even worse Tuesday. The USMNT got embarrassed by Costa Rica, 4-0, and calls for Klinsmann's job ran rampant. Then reports surfaced that U.S. Soccer has been looking for a replacement for Klinsmann for the past year. Not good.

Given all the heat on Klinsmann this week, it made us wonder how in the world certain NFL coaches continue to stay employed despite less than stellar results. What coaches are we talking about? You know, a certain someone who is finally, after 10 weeks of putrid offensive play, letting his No. 1 overall pick get on the field under center. Of course, the Southern Cal coach isn't the only NFL coach who never seems to lose even when his team does.

While things may not be going so smoothly for Klinsmann and some of the aforementioned NFL coaches, even if they do find a way to stay employed, you know who has had a good week? A Tribe Called Quest. Yes, the legendary hip-hop group is still healing from the loss of founding member Phife Dawg, but ATCQ joined Dave Chappelle on "Saturday Night Live" this past week in a throwback episode of sorts, performing in conjunction with the release of the group's latest album, "We Got It From Here, Thank You for Your Service." As we head into the weekend with the new ATCQ on everyone's ears, our own Hashim and Phillip wrote about the Tribe and the 25-year anniversary of the group's historic "Low End Theory" album.

Of course, we all know how sports and entertainment go hand in hand, whether we're talking music, television, video games or movies. Our own Daniel Tran hit on that connection in a fairly direct way, sharing the 10 best sports documentaries available for streaming.

On Daniel's list is "Trojan War," a 30-for-30 on the Pete Carroll era at USC. Coincidentally, USC's 26-13 victory against Washington knocked the previously undefeated Huskies out of the top four in the newest College Football Rankings, and the biggest beneficiary of that upset, among others, was the Big Ten.

Also included in Daniel's list is a the documentary on Muhammad Ali, and Saturday night, two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in world look to do Ali proud in the squared circle. We're talking about Sergey Kovalev vs. Andre Ward, of course, and if you're on the fence about watching this fight, we have nine reasons why you can't miss Kovalev-Ward.

Speaking of boxing, there's simply no better way to start your weekend than with a boxing workout to get your blood flowing, or at least watching our own Eddie and Bonta try out a professional boxer's workout routine.
